When Lesley Collins moved to Tasmania, she was amazed by the beautiful timbers and rich natural environment. Featuring at the Makers’ Workshop as a pyrographer, Lesley uses Tasmanian timbers and products depicting native animals which are burned onto the timber surface.

Lesley’s interest in wood developed from a course in wood turning and a fascination with the natural world and environment.

Tasmania is now home to Lesley. The lifestyle also allows her to explore her other talents as a calligrapher and multimedia artist and crafter with skills in watercolour, pen and pencil.

I enjoy the freedom to develop and explore my creativity and to experiment without the constraints of deadlines and timetables. The creative process involved in producing a beautiful piece of work is both satisfying and therapeutic.
