Julie Irvin
collograph print maker
The density and closeness of the Tasmanian bush is so vastly different from the country where I grew up, which was dry and flat, with vast distances. I wanted that bush detail to be a focus of my work, to share with others the feelings it evokes.
Julie Irvin has lived in Circular Head for over 20 years and the subject of her collograph prints is landscape, the objects that she finds in them and the designs these elements make.
You can easily get lost in the dense rainforest that lines the country roads of far north western Tasmania, and you can get lost in Julie Irvin’s prints.
Julie works from her Stanley studio when she is not exploring local gardens or travelling the country lanes and quiet roads through Tasmania’s temperate forests, keeping her eye out for new things to print.
When can I see Julie Irvin making at the Makers’ Workshop?
