Gail May discovered she had a talent for painting when she retired and took a local art course. Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, Gail enjoys the meditative process of conceiving an idea and interpreting images into two dimensional works.
With a passion for Tasmania’s land and seascapes, Gail creates paintings that bring to life her feelings about our relationship to our planet, a place both enduring and fragile.
Painting is a way for me to express my interpretation of our often complex connection to the environment that sustains us. Art is a very enjoyable journey where I can play with colour and movement and make beautiful images to share.
