Kevnlee
illustrator on timber
The old ways of life have passed into history and I try to keep them alive in my drawings. Everyone remembers famous people but, it’s the not so famous that make the world interesting. Those are the portraits I like to do.
KevnLee’s drawings capture moments in Australia’s history, retelling those stories by putting charcoal to Huon Pine. His works feature horses, bullocks teams, old machinery, native animals and the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.
KevnLee has been illustrating for over 10 years but only started working on timber when he moved to Tasmania and made friends with an old timber sawmiller who introduced him to Huon Pine.
I have always loved art and timber and coming to Tasmania I’ve found a way of combining the two.
